Outfit of the Day | Cocktails and catch ups

It feels like a long time since I’ve done an outfit post for actually going somewhere or doing something. I had a cocktails and catch up afternoon/night planned with my girls recently and with our little boy at his Granny’s and not wanting in about the photo action I actually managed to get a couple of snaps of my outfit.

Now the next reason sharing outfits isn’t quite like it used to be is the fact that a lot of my wardrobe is no longer in season or in store. Lots of my stuff is from previous years or in a sale. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get something similar or pretty much the same.

I love a midi skirt just now and this one from River Island has been waiting patiently in my wardrobe to be worn. I bought this in the sale in December for £15 instead of £32. Shein have a pink ruffle hem skirt that looks really alike while you can get a similar style skirt from Marks and Spencer. Or if you like the style, and the quality that you get from River Island you can get a current season floral twist skirt and yellow animal print skirt.

The top I wore was just a simple black cami from Primark. These are one of my staples and I have them in loads of colours. A bodysuit would have been quite good with this skirt but I’m not sure how easy it would have been to fasten back up after a few cocktails!

We got so lucky with the weather and sunglasses were an essential. I wore my Michael Kors 1021 gold aviators. I also had my Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody bag, which is probably the smallest bag I’ve been able to take with me in months. No need for multiple nappies, toys and snacks on this outing!
On my feet I wore rose gold sandals from New Look. These are my old trusties that I’ve had for a few years and knew they’d be perfect for walking in. If you’re looking for something like them then New Look has loads to choose from. I borrowed my friends denim jacket which was from the 915 section at New Look. I’ve since bought myself one and have worn it loads already. It’s always worth checking to see what’s in the kids/teens section. I would say an age 14 was a good fit for a size 8/10.
